Mal's DietMy diet is similar to the Mediterranean style and I take Fish Oil and Vitamin E supplements My meals consist mainly of fish, chicken, fruit, vegetables, nuts, & extra virgin olive oil. I have up to six or seven fish meals a week. The fish will always be high in omega 3 such as tuna, salmon, mackerel, sardines or deep sea mullet. I snack on nuts, raw vegetables and drink lots water and home made juices such as orange, lemon, apple & ginger, or carrot, apple, beetroot & ginger. Homemade wholemeal bread, wholemeal pastas and brown rice are high on my diet, as well as tomato based pasta sauces and homemade slow baked roma tomatoes. I eat extremely low levels of monounsaturated or polyunsaturated fats, and where possible products with no added salt. I will not eat high fat dairy products such as full cream milk, butter and cheese. I include lots of garlic raw or roasted, and lots of good red wine. I allow myself one high fat meal a month such as fish & chips. |
