Fact Sheet Two
Quoll Seekers Network
WHAT IS IT?
It is a community-based volunteer group, facilitated by Nature Search
and Threatened Species Network. We are interested in the well being of the quolls in
southeast Queensland.
AIM
OF THE NETWORK
The groups aim is to:
- Raise community
awareness of quolls existence, status, threatening processes and community members
potential for practical contribution to conservation of the species;
- Gather
information on recent sightings to facilitate better management;
- Provide a
central point for collection, collation and dispersal of information relating to quolls in
SEQ to interested parties and the wider community;
- Target most
relevant groups including rural and semi rural land holders, relevant state government
agencies, local government and community groups.
HOW
CAN YOU HELP?
Today, we humans have vast amount of knowledge of the plight of our
wildlife yet, despite this knowledge, we continue to threaten and lead many species to
extinction 1. Here are some ways to prevent the extinction of these species:
- Create a quoll
proof fence (refer to Fact Sheet Four)
- Keep your cats
and dogs in a closed fence
- Report any
sightings
